Prasit Urges Public Not to Perceive Bhumjaithai Party Attack as Political Game

Bangkok: "Prasit" has called on the public not to view the recent scrutiny of the Bhumjaithai Party as a political maneuver. He asserts that it is a favorable moment, expressing confidence that the government will complete its full term. He anticipates that the upcoming coalition parties' dinner will cover various topics.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Prasert Chantarawongthong, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society, and a leader of the Pheu Thai Party, spoke about the coalition parties' dinner scheduled for Tuesday, February 25, 2025. He mentioned that he would not attend, leaving the party leader and secretary to participate.

Regarding the scrutiny of the Bhumjaithai Party, which includes investigations into the Pak Chong golf course land and allegations of collusion in Senate elections, Mr. Prasert urged against perceiving these actions as obstacles to the government's term. He described the dinner as a routine event where parties engage in normal discussions. Despite current issues, he remains confident in the government's stability and longevity, emphasizing that involved parties need to address these matters.

When questioned about the events' timing and potential political implications, Mr. Prasit acknowledged the possibility of it being an opportune moment. He clarified that discussions among government leaders are expected to address several issues on February 25, 2025.

Concerning the possibility of a no-confidence debate, following statements by Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Mr. Prasert advised patience. He urged waiting to see what the opposition will present for debate, emphasizing the need for clarity before making further comments. He stressed that discussions should be based on concrete information rather than speculation.
