Poll Supports Peaceful Negotiations to Resolve Thai-Cambodian Conflict

North Bangkok: Poll North Bangkok supports the use of peaceful negotiations to resolve the Thai-Cambodian conflict. More than half of the public are satisfied with the Prime Minister's approach to solving the problem.

According to Thai News Agency, Asst. Prof. Sanit Sirivisitkul, head of the North Bangkok Poll, North Bangkok University, revealed that on June 19, 2025, a survey of 1,500 people from all regions was conducted on the Thai-Cambodian conflict. It was found that 68.1% of the people were well informed about the Thai-Cambodian conflict and followed the news regularly, 27.6% were somewhat informed but not in detail, and 4.3% were not aware at all.

Meanwhile, the surveyors were asked how this conflict would affect Thailand. The conclusion was that it would affect border security by 47.6%, international relations by 33.1%, the economy and tourism by 10.0%, and not have much impact by 9.2%.

Asst. Prof. Sanit continued that the surveyors were asked about the best way to resolve the conflict, and the people surveyed agreed that 67.9% should focus on peaceful negotiations, 25.4% should go to war, and 6.7% had no opinion. At the same time, they asked for their opinions on the issue of whether the Prime Minister was pursuing a peaceful approach or not. The public agreed with 55.0%, disagreed with 36.2%, and had no opinion at 8.8%.
