PM Visits Los Angeles to Engage with Thai Community and Business Leaders Before APEC Summit in Peru.

Los Angeles: The mission of the leader of "Team Thailand" commenced as Prime Minister Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra traveled to Los Angeles to engage with business leaders and the Thai community prior to attending the upcoming APEC meeting in Peru, aimed at encouraging global investors to consider opportunities in Thailand. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that Ms. Shinawatra, along with Mr. Maris Sengiampong, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and their delegation, are participating in the 31st Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit and associated meetings in Lima, Peru, scheduled for November 10-18, 2024. The Prime Minister's entourage is expected to land in Los Angeles at 7:30 p.m. local time, which is 15 hours behind Bangkok time. During the Los Angeles visit, the Prime Minister will hold a meeting with ambassadors, consuls general from the Americas, and related government entities, sharing policies on economics and foreign affa irs. Furthermore, she will meet with local businesspeople and the Thai community, the largest overseas Thai population globally, with over 400,000 members. Discussions will also occur with the private sector to establish a networking reception with the Motion Picture Association (MPA), featuring top executives from leading American film companies. The engagement with prominent American film producers aims to attract them to shoot films in Thailand's picturesque locations, projected to generate over 4,000 million baht this year. The Thai government is also committed to streamlining the process for film production in the country. Following the Los Angeles visit, the Prime Minister and her delegation will proceed to Lima, Peru, on November 13, 2024. Between November 14-16, 2024, she will participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Leaders' Meeting and various related events, including interactions with the US-APEC Business Coalition, informal discussions with APEC Leaders and special guests, as well as dialogues with the APEC Business Advisory Council during a retreat format. Bilateral talks with attending leaders, such as HE Ms. Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, President of Peru, and global private sector representatives, are also on the agenda. The mission in Lima is set to conclude on November 16, 2024, with the Prime Minister scheduled to return to Thailand on November 18, 2024, at 11:10 a.m. Thai time.
