PM Urges Dialogue Following Anutin’s Call for “Chocolate Mint Declaration”

Bangkok: Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra has emphasized the need for discussions following Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's demand for what he termed a "Mint Shock Declaration." This demand comes amidst revelations concerning a document signed by 21 MPs from the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, requesting a cabinet reshuffle to adjust party representation.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister Shinawatra confirmed the existence of the document before his trip to Surin Province to assess the Thai-Cambodian border situation. He acknowledged that the list of 21 Phalang Pracharath Party MPs had been sent to him but insisted that the issue should be resolved internally by the party itself, remarking, "Let them sort it out themselves. It has nothing to do with us."

In response to inquiries about the cabinet reshuffle's progress, the Prime Minister stated, "Nothing yet." His comments came in the wake of Anutin Charnvirakul's public questioning regarding the so-called "Chok Mint Declaration" related to the reshuffle. Prime Minister Shinawatra indicated that discussions on the matter would likely take place, suggesting a dialogue could be forthcoming.

The conversation took a lighter turn when a reporter playfully addressed Anutin, who was accompanying the Prime Minister, asking for his thoughts. Anutin responded with a smile and a gesture, before the Prime Minister and his delegation proceeded to the reception area, continuing their journey to Surin Province.
