PM Posts Explanation: Mike Headbutts Reporters; Not Intentional

Bangkok: Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra clarified that hitting a reporter's head with a microphone was unintentional, saying that the event was very crowded and that the hit was not too hard. She also thanked everyone for their support.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, posted a message via her IG story about a microphone from a television station hitting the Prime Minister's head while he was visiting Ubon Ratchathani Province, and the Prime Minister exclaimed. The Prime Minister explained that today there was news about a microphone hitting the head.

"I said, 'Knock me on the head once.' There was definitely no 'I' in the word," the Prime Minister remarked. The incident was described as unintentional, with the reporter who was involved not meaning to cause any harm. The crowded nature of the event contributed to the accidental contact, and the impact was not severe.

The reporter involved in the incident approached the Prime Minister to apologize, and the news agency also extended their apologies. Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra expressed her gratitude for the concern and encouragement she received following the incident.
