Bangkok: "Phumtham" has received significant donations of goods and money from organizations and the private sector to aid those affected by the situation along the Thai-Cambodian border. Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office, disclosed that Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, who is the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior acting as Prime Minister, led the relief efforts by presiding over the reception of these crucial supplies. The donations were channeled through the Prime Minister's Office Disaster Relief Fund, with key officials such as Mrs. Yupha Thaweewattanakitborworn, Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office, and Mrs. Chuencheewan Limpthirakul, Deputy Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office, also in attendance.
According to Thai News Agency, the relief supplies and funds received from private sector agencies and organizations are intended to provide necessary support to those impacted by the border situation. Mr. Phumtham expressed his gratitude to the contributing agencies and private sector organizations for their commitment to aiding citizens affected by the events at the Thai-Cambodian border.
Among the significant contributions, the Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited (BTS) provided financial assistance amounting to 50,000,000 baht. The Rainwood Foundation (Thailand) contributed 2,573,888 baht, which included cash, medical equipment, and consumer goods. Additionally, the Chinese Association of Thailand, together with the 9 Chinese Associations and various district Chinese Associations, donated 2,490,000 baht.
In a collaborative effort this morning, the Thai-Chinese Relations Foundation and Yongxing Steel (Thailand) Co., Ltd. contributed 3,000,000 baht to further support those affected by the border situation.
