He emphasized that the Prime Minister has not discussed any such changes and expressed satisfaction with the current cabinet's performance, specifically noting the Minister of Defense's role.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phumtham addressed the findings of a survey conducted by the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), which explored public opinion on the timing of a cabinet adjustment. He reiterated that any decision regarding the cabinet is solely the Prime Minister's prerogative. Despite public suggestions for changes in the Ministry of Commerce, Mr. Phumtham stated that these were merely opinions reflected in the poll and would be considered by the Prime Minister.
Mr. Phumtham further commented on the absence of discussions about a cabinet reshuffle, stating that he had only heard about such rumors from the media. He expressed confidence in his role, having been with the Ministry of Defense for six months, and highlighted the poll results indicating that the majority saw no need for a change in his position. He expressed gratitude for the support and emphasized his commitment to working collaboratively to address issues.
In response to inquiries about the Bhumjaithai Party's potential removal from the coalition, Mr. Phumtham refrained from making predictions, citing the ability to maintain a good working relationship with Mr. Anutin and collaborate effectively on relevant matters. He acknowledged the country's ongoing challenges and emphasized the importance of addressing crises as part of their responsibilities.
