Phuket Province, rain all night, causing landslides to cover many houses in Rassada Subdistrict Municipality, causing locals to flee in panic. In Phuket town, water is about to overflow the Bang Yai Canal and there is water waiting to be drained in many places. Relevant agencies are rushing to the area to solve the problem. From the heavy rain in Phuket Province since last night until this morning, many areas have flooded 30-40 centimeters, including reports of landslides and mud from the hills behind Thepburi Village, Ratsada Nusorn Road, Tambon Ratsada, Amphoe Mueang, flowing down and covering 7-8 houses, causing roofs and walls to collapse. Officials had to temporarily evacuate residents from their homes to prevent danger if more landslides occur, as it is still raining continuously and the hills are still holding rainwater. Mr. Nakarin Yosangrat, Mayor of Ratsada Subdistrict Municipality, ordered relevant agencies to find the best way to remove the soil that is covering people's houses because if they are not careful and only remove the soil below, the soil above may slide down again. They also provided temporary housing for those affected to alleviate their suffering in the beginning. Reporters reported that in the Phuket town area, where there is Khlong Bang Yai and is the main canal that brings water to the sea, cutting through the middle of the town in the Phuket City Municipality area, in the morning the water level began to overflow the banks, causing officials to temporarily put up steel panels to block the intersection from Phang Nga Road to Phuket Road, at the Chartered Bank intersection, and to monitor the water level and pump out the water to protect the Phuket Old Town area, an important commercial area, from being affected.
