Phimai Flooded, Flash Floods Inundate Large Areas


Phimai: Flash floods inundated a wide area in Rang Ka Yai subdistrict, along the Phimai-Chum Phuang road. Water levels rose 30-40 cm. for a distance of 2 km.



According to Thai News Agency, aerial footage shows widespread flooding in Rang Ka Yai subdistrict, Phimai district, Nakhon Ratchasima province, following continuous rain since midnight. Flash floods have inundated the Phimai-Chum Phuang road, reaching 30-40 centimeters high and stretching for two kilometers. Officials have closed the road to vehicles due to the strong currents and continued rising levels. It is expected that if there is no further rain, the situation will return to normal within one day.



In Phimai Subdistrict Municipality, Kulno School was flooded, forcing kindergarten students to suspend classes and study online at home. Primary 4-6 students are expected to attend classes as usual, as they are in the pre-term exam period.



Meanwhile, the Phimai New Town Market area is flooded with water levels of approximately 20-30 centimeters. Vendors are forced to stand in the water to sell their goods, and some shops have been forced to temporarily close. Phimai Historical Park is also flooded and has announced a temporary closure of tourists.
