Bangkok: Pheu Thai Party, currently lacking its core leaders, convened with select Members of Parliament (MPs) for informal discussions regarding the party's political direction.
According to Thai News Agency, the Pheu Thai Party is in the midst of gathering votes to establish a new government. Ms. Manoporn Charoensri, Deputy Minister of Transport and a prominent figure in the Pheu Thai Party, shared insights before a special cabinet meeting. She emphasized that she would engage in discussions with some party leaders to deliberate on government formation and assess the party's MP votes. This move comes amid reports that some MPs are extending support to the Bhumjaithai Party.
As of early afternoon, no key party leaders were present at the Pheu Thai Party headquarters. Phrae MP Worawut Euapinyakul was the first to arrive at 2:20 PM. He disclosed that informal discussions among MPs were planned at the party headquarters to explore the political direction and assess the current situation. However, he clarified that this gathering was not an official party meeting and he was unaware of the attendees.
In addition, reporters noted that a scheduled meeting between the government whip working group and party representatives, aimed at discussing parliamentary work direction, had been canceled. Mr. Wisut Chainarun, the government whip chairman, confirmed the cancellation and mentioned that he had not visited the party headquarters.
