Phalang Pracharath Party MPs to Petition Prime Minister for Cabinet Adjustment

Bangkok: "Sasikan" anticipates that the Phalang Pracharath Party MPs will submit a petition to the Prime Minister seeking a Cabinet adjustment as a strategic move to prevent the party from declining over the energy law issue. She clarified that "Pirapan" was not avoiding the media but was organizing the agenda for the Cabinet meeting.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Sasikarn Wattanachan, deputy government spokeswoman and member of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, addressed the situation where 21 MPs from her party signed a letter to Prime Minister Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra. The letter proposed a Cabinet reshuffle in proportion to the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party's influence, featuring a list of names and signatures of all 21 MPs, led by Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Minister of Commerce and deputy leader of the party. Sasikarn noted that she learned about the letter through social media like the general public and questioned the authenticity of the signatures, suggesting they might have been used for different purposes.

Regarding concerns about the Energy Act, Ms. Sasikarn mentioned that it is a matter under observation by Thai citizens. The Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party has drafted three laws, one of which is undergoing public scrutiny. She suggested that there might be attempts to undermine the law or destabilize the party.

On the legal handling of the case, Ms. Sasikarn stated that consultations with the party's executive committee, leader, and secretary are necessary. The situation caused some chaos upon its revelation, but she expressed gratitude for public support.

Criticism was directed at Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Pirapan Salirathavibhaga and Industry Minister Ekkanat Promphan for lacking qualifications and achievements. Ms. Sasikarn defended Pirapan, highlighting his commitment to energy issues, and Ekkanat for confronting the Chinese mafia. She stressed the importance of following signals from party leadership regarding further actions.

Ms. Sasikarn also addressed recent misinformation targeting the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, urging the public to approach news with caution. She reiterated that their energy law involves multiple legislative steps and is awaiting the next House of Representatives session. She emphasized that ongoing efforts are in support of Mr. Phiraphan for the benefit of the people.

The possibility of expelling MPs involved in the petition will depend on party regulations. Ms. Sasikarn highlighted that the MPs' initiative reflects a collective mindset within the party, and decisions will be made by the party's executive committee.

Finally, Ms. Sasikarn reassured that Mr. Phiraphan was not avoiding media engagements but was focused on preparing for the Cabinet meeting's agenda.
