Permanent Secretary of Prime Minister’s Office Assumes Role with Sacred Homage.

Bangkok: Mrs. Yupha Thaweewattanakitbaworn, the newly appointed Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister, commenced her duties at the Office of the Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister following a royal appointment. Upon her arrival at Government House, she engaged in a traditional homage to the spirit house and the shrine of the grandfather and grandmother, revered sacred objects at Government House, to seek blessings for her tenure. She further paid respects to the Buddha statue located in her office and expressed gratitude to the civil servants and officials who welcomed her. According to Thai News Agency, Mrs. Yupha has emphasized her commitment to fulfilling her responsibilities with determination and intent. Her primary focus includes coordinating with various agencies and advancing significant projects. An upcoming key event is the enshrinement of the Buddha's relics, specifically the crystal tooth relic, at Sanam Luang. This event marks the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King's 72nd bir thday anniversary and commemorates the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China, scheduled for December 4th. Mrs. Yupha also addressed the necessity of tackling various public issues, expressing her readiness to collaborate with different agencies and the media. She highlighted the importance of collective efforts, stating that cooperative work with multiple parties forms the foundation of her policy and approach, as it is crucial for achieving success. Regarding the appointment of a new Secretary-General for the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB), Mrs. Yupha noted the ongoing concerns about civil servants in the OCPB linked to the ICON case. She acknowledged the inquiries on this matter and requested time to thoroughly investigate the available information. She suggested that a committee might be established to ensure a comprehensive review and to develop effective working guidelines. Emphasizing the significance of the role, she stressed the need for a transparent, fair, and well- qualified selection process. She anticipates that the appointment will be finalized within a month. Civil servants and agencies under the Office of the Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister extended their congratulations to Mrs. Yupha on her new role.
