P-Move group shakes Government House fence, urges PM to solve land use problem

Government House, 15 Oct. - P-Move group shakes Government House fence - launches rocket, requests meeting with PM, demands resolution of land use problem, gives ultimatum if request is not met, will stay at Government House for a long time. The People's Movement for a Just Society (P-Move) stormed the Government House fence on Phitsanulok Road and shook the fence to force the police who were stationed there to open the gate so they could meet with Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra, but were unsuccessful. The P-Move group is disappointed with the government's performance because during the 9 days they have been holding out to demand land for farming and housing here, no ministerial representatives have come to meet to solve the people's problems. They gave the government a score of 0 and used the symbol of a chicken egg to represent a score of 0, throwing it all into Government House. The letter of demands was folded into a rocket and sent to the Prime Minister, who was in a cabinet meeting, to inform him of his demands to resolve the problems, including the cases of the sea gypsies on Koh Lipe in Satun Province and the Karen community in Bang Kloi in Phetchaburi Province. If the request is not followed, the protest will continue in front of Government House. If there is a mobile cabinet meeting, P-Move representatives will be sent to inquire about the progress of solving the problems for the people. For the P-Move group's demands, the Prime Minister signs the draft order appointing the People's Movement for a Just Society Problem Solving Committee, which has the components and powers as proposed by P-Move. Once the Prime Minister signs the appointment, a meeting of the committee must be called as soon as possible. The Prime Minister must submit the order appointing the committee and the results of the meeting to the Cabinet for acknowledgement and approval, in order to ensure that P-Move's problem solving is carried out effectively and continuously. Including the People's Movement for a Just Society, w e call on the Prime Minister to expedite the order to assign government representatives to negotiate and reach a conclusion as soon as possible.-317.-Thai News Agency Source: Thai News Agency
