Chiang Mai: 'Narumon' opens 'National Farmer's Day' in Chiang Mai Province to honor His Majesty King Rama X on his 6th cycle, 72nd birthday, inviting Thai people to see, taste, and shop for agricultural products. Mrs. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, presided over the ceremony to receive 12 royal trophies from the plant and animal contest in front of the portrait of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and opened the National Farmers Day event. This event will be held from November 27 to December 8, 2024, under the theme of 'Continue, Preserve, and Build the King's Philosophy towards Smart Agriculture, Food Security, and Carbon Neutrality for Sustainable Development'. Mr. Akara Prompow, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, and other executives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives attended the event at Mae Hia Farm, Agricultural Innovation Research, Integration, Demonstration and Training Center, Faculty of Agriculture, Chiang Mai University, with the aim of honoring His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun. According to Thai News Agency, the event aims to promote national policies in line with the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives' strategy to drive the vision of "Stable Farmers, Wealthy Agricultural Sector, Sustainable Agricultural Resources." The National Farmers' Day event in 2024 is divided into seven zones. These include the Agri knowledge and innovation zone, the Agri innovations for sustainable and king philosophy zone, the See, Taste, Shop zone in the Green and clean market zone, the greenovation wonderland zone, the wonders of flora and fauna zone, the Food and agri innovations zone, and the Amazing agro-tourism zone. The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives has supported and participated in organizing the National Farmers' Day. All 22 agencies under the ministry have contributed to organizing academic exhibitions in the AGRI KNOWLEDGE AND INNOVATION zone. Exhibits are organized under four key concepts: r oyal wisdom, modern agriculture, food security, and carbon neutrality. These aim to share knowledge with visitors and showcase achievements in developing and strengthening the agricultural sector. Key initiatives highlighted include promoting Smart Farmers and Young Smart Farmers, increasing the value of agricultural products with innovation, and supporting plant, animal, and ornamental fish contests to promote agricultural careers with science and technology. "We invite farmers and interested parties to visit the National Agriculture Day at Mae Hia Farm to support Thai agricultural products, see, taste, shop, and learn about agricultural and technological innovations, as well as various interesting exhibitions," said Ms. Narumon.
