Bangkok: Natthaphong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the Prachachon Party and opposition leader in the House of Representatives, has expressed his sadness over the collapse of the construction beam on the Rama II Road bridge. He is urging the government to investigate the incident thoroughly and identify those responsible. Natthaphong recommends that the investigation be conducted transparently and that the findings be communicated to the public.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Nattapong emphasized the importance of addressing the issue promptly to prevent similar incidents in the future. He stressed the need for accountability, noting that previous incidents have not resulted in anyone being held responsible. He highlighted that the government should ensure proper supervision and conduct a factual investigation that is transparent to the public.
When questioned about Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport's assurance that similar issues would not occur, Natthaphong pointed out that the collapse had already happened. He reiterated the necessity for someone to be held accountable for the incident and for the government to take decisive action in making the investigation's outcomes known to the public.
