Muang Thai Insurance and Life Assurance Unite for New Thai Football League Cup

Bangkok: Muang Thai Insurance PCL and Muang Thai Life Assurance PCL have joined forces with the Football Association of Thailand to transform Thai football by launching a new football league cup, "Muang Thai CUP," for the 2025/26 season. The collaboration marks a significant change for Thai football.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Wilaks Lothong, Vice President of the Football Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, emphasized that this partnership is more than just a business collaboration. It represents a commitment to the sports industry, recognizing the value of this important football cup competition. The winning team will receive a cash prize of 5 million baht and a spot in the AFF Club Championship for the 2026/27 season. This initiative aims to elevate club standards and provide players with international experience, making Thai fans proud of their teams competing on a broader ASEAN stage.

Mr. Pramote Sakkamjorn, Senior Executive Vice President of Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited, expressed his delight in collaborating on this project, which reflects the determination of both companies. He highlighted that since last year, both companies have been main sponsors of the Thai League 2 football competition, viewing football as a platform for dreams and opportunities.

Ms. Nuanwan Lamsam, Executive Director of Muang Thai Insurance Public Company Limited, noted the company's long-standing commitment to supporting Thai football. She highlighted football's role as a bridge to various sectors, including society, the economy, and tourism. This year marks an extension of the company's mission to ensure the stability, strength, and sustainability of Thai football.

The event saw participation from media, key opinion leaders, and important figures in the football industry, including Kob-Suchao Nuchnum, a former captain, and Tong-Panuwat Jaiyim, a well-known influencer in Thai football, who shared their experiences.

The Muang Thai Cup is set to begin in October 2025, featuring a single-elimination format from the Round of 32 to the finals. The champion team will earn a trophy, 5 million baht, and entry into the ASEAN Club Cup for the following season, while the runner-up will receive 1 million baht.
