Bangkok: The Ministry of Education has announced that schools in the southern and southern border areas will be repurposed as flood relief centers to aid teachers and students affected by the ongoing disaster. Mr. Karom Polpornklang, Deputy Government Spokesperson, emphasized the urgency of this initiative, stating the government’s commitment to integrate efforts from all agencies to provide comprehensive assistance to those suffering from the floods.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Karom detailed that the Office of the Basic Education Commission has instructed educational areas within its jurisdiction to notify schools in the affected regions. These schools are to open their premises as shelters and relief centers, offering refuge to victims of the flood. Cooperation with local agencies has been established to ensure that those in need receive adequate care. Furthermore, teachers and educational personnel who volunteer will play a crucial role in supporting and facilitating the relief efforts.
