Ministry of Culture Launches CPOT Fair 2025 to Boost Thai Cultural Products

Bangkok: The Ministry of Culture has announced the launch of the 'CPOT Fair 2025: Good Products from All Over Thailand, Near You' event. This initiative aims to introduce Thai Cultural Products (CPOT) to the Chinese and Middle Eastern tourist markets, taking place at Big C Supercenter, Ratchadamri branch, from February 6 to 9.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Prasop Riangngen, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, led the event's opening ceremony. The event was attended by notable figures, including Mrs. Wipada Duangrat, First Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee at BJC Big C Group, and Mr. Kol Hiranburana, Managing Director of Bangkok Instrument Center Co., Ltd., alongside various executives, entrepreneurs, and guests.

Mr. Prasop highlighted that the Ministry of Culture has been collaborating with BJC Group, Big C, and Bangkok Instrument Center Co., Ltd. since mid-2023 to market CPOT products. Their efforts have enabled 38 communities to earn over 60 million baht by selling products at 65 Big C locations nationwide. The focus for 2025 is on sustaining economic and cultural growth through this event, which features over 300 cultural product booths, offering items like fabrics, clothing, accessories, herbs, and home decorations.

The event also includes demonstrations of traditional food, Thai massage, and cultural performances, aiming to attract a broad audience, particularly tourists with high purchasing power from China and the Middle East. Examples of featured products include traditional Ayutthaya-patterned clothing from Phusa Pha Lai Yang and contemporary Hmong clothing from the Mahaporn brand. Additionally, Thai Paper Art souvenirs and herbal products from Mab Ueng brand are available.

Ms. Wipada Duangrat from Big C Supercenter Public Company Limited emphasized their ongoing support for government initiatives promoting Thai cultural products. She expects the event to attract at least 5,000 tourists daily, offering an opportunity to enhance the global presence of Thai cultural items and helping local communities and entrepreneurs grow sustainably.

Mr. Thawatchai Thiravatkankamjorn, Managing Director of Siam Magnet Co., Ltd., expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Culture for recognizing his company's unique cultural products. Siam Magnet offers a collection of more than 700 designs of magnets and key chains that reflect Thai culture. These products have garnered significant interest from foreign tourists seeking unique souvenirs.
