Minister spotlights Indonesia’s economic resilience at G20 event

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, during the first session of the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting in Gandhinagar, India, Tuesday, highlighted that Indonesia's economic performance remains resilient amid global economic disruptions.For six quarters in a row, Indonesia's economic growth remains at five percent. This is a relatively good condition when compared to other countries, she noted as quoted from an official statement issued on Wednesday. The combination of fiscal and monetary policies became a crucial key to achieve this, such as through discipline toward fiscal consolidation after the COVID-19 pandemic. During the first session, the minister also discussed Indonesia's priority within the Energy Transition Mechanism (ETM) and Pandemic Fund, which are initiatives from Indonesia's G20 Presidency last year. Indonesia will continue to voice this matter at various multilateral forums, such as the G20 and ASEAN. In line with the first session, Mulyani also discussed the financing mechanism to realize sustainable development through the Energy Transition Mechanism during the second session.
