Meteorological Department Issues Warning for Heavy Rain in Northern Thailand

Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain in some areas of northern Thailand. Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious of the dangers of heavy rain. Meanwhile, Bangkok and its vicinity have a 70% chance of thunderstorms and heavy rain in some areas.

According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain in some areas of upper Thailand over the next 24 hours. Residents in these areas are advised to be aware of the dangers of heavy rain and accumulated rain, which could lead to flash floods and mudslides, particularly on hillsides near waterways and lowlands. This is due to the monsoon trough passing through the northern and upper northeastern regions, coupled with the moderate southwest monsoon still prevailing over the Andaman Sea, southern Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.

Waves in the upper Andaman Sea are moderate, with waves approximately 2 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, waves are higher than 2 meters. In the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand, waves are 1-2 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, waves are higher than 2 meters. Mariners are advised to proceed with caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.

Bangkok and surrounding areas will experience thunderstorms with a 70% chance of rain and heavy rain in some areas. Minimum temperature 24-26 degrees Celsius, maximum temperature 31-33 degrees Celsius.
