Madam Yok Urges Government to Expedite Compensation for Border Conflict Victims

Bangkok: Madam Yok has called on the government to hasten relief efforts for citizens and soldiers affected by the recent border conflict, emphasizing that the "Issara Movement" would actively support those impacted from the onset of hostilities by providing essential supplies.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Kotchaporn Weroj, leader of the Move Forward Party (Indy), disclosed the current situation along the Thai-Cambodian border, noting that while the area remains calm with no active clashes, the potential for conflict persists. She advised residents in evacuation centers to remain until the situation stabilizes, citing a lack of trust in Cambodia's actions. Ms. Kotchaporn stressed the urgent need for government aid to those who have suffered losses of property, homes, and loved ones. The uncertainty and despair faced by evacuees highlight the necessity for immediate government intervention to provide clarity and support.

Ms. Kotchaporn further urged for unity, criticizing those who disparage the military. Highlighting the sacrifices made by soldiers, including the loss of 15 lives, she condemned Cambodia's actions, which have affected not only military personnel but also civilians, schools, and hospitals. She emphasized the importance of condemning Cambodia's actions rather than internal criticism, advocating for a united Thai front to prevent future challenges.

In her address, Ms. Kotchaporn reiterated the Move Forward Party's commitment to support both civilians and soldiers, providing essential supplies to those in need. She underscored the importance of backing soldiers with necessary resources, as supply shortages remain a concern in border areas. Her message emphasized solidarity and readiness among Thais to defend national sovereignty alongside those on the front lines.

Looking ahead, Ms. Kotchaporn announced plans to visit the affected border areas with a team to deliver support and supplies, following a mission to aid flood victims in the North. Her efforts aim to improve conditions for the conflict-impacted individuals and restore hope and stability to the region.
