Land Department Addresses Pak Chong Land Boundary Issue, Confirms Procedure Compliance

Bangkok: The Land Department has clarified concerns surrounding the unclear land boundaries in the Pak Chong District, confirming that the issuance of title deeds has adhered to established procedures and will continue in accordance with legal guidelines.

According to Thai News Agency, the Land Department has released a document addressing the case involving Mr. Thanadol Suwannarit, Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives. He submitted significant information after examining the facts related to the issuance of title deeds and land ownership in the Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. This area is part of the Agricultural Land Reform Office (ALRO) land reform zone, encompassing over 46,000 rai. On February 18, a letter was dispatched to the Land Department, urging a prompt inspection of the title deed issuance, with an expectation that the findings will be returned to the ALRO within 30 days. Should this timeline not be met, ALRO plans to compile information for potential legal action in the Administrative Court.

The boundary issue in Pak Chong District involves an unclear demarcation between the ALRO boundary and the Lam Takhong Self-Help Settlement boundary. Relevant agencies, including the Agricultural Land Reform Office, the Department of Social Development and Welfare, and the Department of Lands, have submitted the matter to the National Land Policy Committee for resolution. The situation is currently under review, aligning with the Ombudsman's decision.

The Land Department has expressed readiness to comply with legal requirements and cooperate if requested by responsible agencies. It emphasized its commitment to proceed with caution, prioritizing correctness and the interests of the nation and its citizens. The department assures that title deeds issued in the area have been processed in strict accordance with the existing regulations and laws.
