Jiraporn" vows that the Consumer Protection Board will take full legal action if it finds gold shops exaggerating their advertising and deceiving the public. It plans to expand its inspection of other online food supplement sellers and sellers. The victims will file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Board to call gold shop owners to provide information on 27 Sept. The group of victims of the online gold purchase case, Mae Tak-Pa Beer, went to seek justice from Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office, in the capacity of supervising the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB). The group of victims stated that they wanted the OCPB to help supervise online sales, including setting prices and weights of gold, because those who bought gold wanted to keep it for future sales, but were unable to sell it. They also asked the OCPB to supervise advertising and persuasive advertising on gold savings, and to create a good image that people would trust, creating a good image that w ould deceive people, because some buyers may not be up to date with technology while online sales were taking place. They also asked the public to protect their rights and file a complaint to seek justice for themselves, so that those who have committed wrongdoings or taken advantage of consumers should have their rights returned to the public. Ms. Jiraporn said that the Consumer Protection Board is responsible for supervising products and services. In the case of gold purchases, it was found that gold was sold elsewhere but did not get a good price, and many people complained that they had suffered a lot of damages. The Consumer Protection Board therefore set up a working group and went to inspect the gold shops, checked the labels, and collected samples of gold for testing, and sent them to the Gemological Institute to see if they were as advertised, that they were 99.99% gold. The results will be known within 3 days. If the results are not as advertised, they will be guilty. All victims can be assured tha t we strictly investigate. If we find any wrongdoing, we will not be exempt. The Consumer Protection Board works with the police, the Consumer Protection Police Division, the Crime Suppression Division, and the Anti-Money Laundering Office to oversee compensation or return of gold, and strictly enforce the law. The Consumer Protection Board confirms that the Consumer Protection Board is working to its fullest potential and is ready to take care of everyone. It also opens up a space to listen to victims and other issues that arise online. In addition, there will be an investigation into the sale of other products by the said vendor because the Consumer Protection Board must look at the label and advertising to see if they are legal or not. It may not be just this case, but other people who are breaking the law are also being investigated. The public who are suffering can file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Board. The Consumer Protection Board has invited the shop owner to provide information on Sept ember 27th. We are waiting for a response. Next week, the injured party will be invited to provide information again. We have already ordered that this matter be resolved as soon as possible. "Don't be afraid because we have the Consumer Protection Police Division and the police who are willing to protect the people. If we find that someone has committed an offense, we will take strict legal action to the fullest extent," said Ms. Jiraporn. Source: Thai News Agency
