“Jiraporn-Thirat” Lead Pheu Thai MPs to Support Soft Power at LalaLove Fashion Show

Bangkok: "Jiraporn-Thirat" lead Pheu Thai MPs to watch the LalaLove fashion show, promoting Thailand's fashion soft power, and celebrating the success of the marriage equality law.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, Minister to the Prime Minister's Office, along with Ms. Thirat Samretwanich, Deputy Minister of Interior, and members of the Bangkok Metropolitan Council of the Pheu Thai Party, attended the Lalalove Me Like You Do S/S 2025 fashion show by LalaLove, a brand founded by Ms. Linda Charoenlap. The event took place at Soho House Bangkok on January 24, 2025, with aims to boost the fashion industry and mark the achievement of the Marriage Equality Act championed by the Pheu Thai Party.

Ms. Jiraporn expressed her admiration for the designer's work, which integrates Thai fabrics with materials from the Department of Corrections, resulting in contemporary fashion that tells compelling stories. She highlighted that this initiative could bolster the creative economy and motivate Thai youth by demonstrating that Thai designers can achieve global elegance.

Ms. Thirat emphasized that the fashion show transcended mere aesthetics, presenting art that narrates the origins of its materials. She commended the brand's commitment to recognizing all forms of love, aligning with the government's policies under Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra's leadership.

Founded in 2009 in London, LalaLove is renowned for pushing the boundaries of general fashion, characterized by its distinct identity and imaginative use of creativity. The brand utilizes fabrics from local communities, enhancing its environmental and social value while supporting small entrepreneurs. This approach has garnered LalaLove acclaim both in Thailand and globally.

The fashion show embraced the 4-S concept: Soft Power, which promotes Thai fabrics globally by fusing traditional culture with modern trends; Second Chance, offering opportunities to female inmates to create handmade fashion materials, thereby supporting their post-release employment; Sustainable Shift, which incorporates natural fibers and recycled materials to combat global warming; and Social Synergy, fostering awareness and acceptance of diversity in society.
