Tourists, hoping to witness the first light of day, were met with disappointment as the area was covered in overcast skies and thick fog, blocking any sunlight. According to Thai News Agency, the cold and foggy conditions took many by surprise. The lack of sunlight due to the dense fog left visitors unable to enjoy the scenic views typically visible from Thailand's highest peak. Despite the cold, the area saw a significant number of tourists who braved the weather in anticipation of a beautiful sunrise. However, the weather conditions marred their experience, as the expected breathtaking views were obscured by the thick fog.
