Integrated data crucial to reduce women’s violence cases: Ministry

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The availability of complete, accurate, up-to-date, and integrated data on violence against women's cases became an absolute condition to reduce their number and protect women's rights, the Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) Ministry stated."A database system for cases of violence against women is one of the important aspects in the effort to reduce violence against women," Ministry's Secretary Pribudiarta, Nur Sitepu, noted during a webinar titled "Violence Against Women Data Synergy: PPPA Ministry, Komnas Perempuan and FPL Cooperation" on Tuesday. Violence against women is one of the issues that the government is focusing on to immediately handle it, Sitepu remarked. "In accordance with President Joko Widodo's instruction, there should be optimization of the violence case reporting system," he noted. On account of this, the PPPA Ministry, the National Commission on Violence against Women (Komnas Perempuan), and Service Procurer Forum (FPL) agreed to integrate the reporting data on violence against women.
