‘Half-Half Plus’ Program Spending Surpasses 3 Billion Baht

Bangkok: The "Half-Half Plus" program has garnered positive feedback, with total spending exceeding 3 billion baht. It is anticipated to stimulate domestic consumption growth in the fourth quarter of 2025. Store owners have been cautioned against exploiting the opportunity to raise prices, with legal action promised for any violations.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister's Office Spokesperson Siripong Angkasakulkiat announced that the "Half-Half Plus" initiative has been warmly received by the public, with a surge in consumer goods purchases from the program's inception. By 11:00 PM on October 30, 2025, total expenditure reached 4,062.45 million baht, comprising 2,051.38 million baht from the public and 2,011.07 million baht from government contributions. A total of 742,379 vendors have been verified under the program.

The government's economic stimulus policies, including the "Half-Half Plus" program, are expected to significantly increase domestic consumption in the last quarter of 2025. The Ministry of Finance's economic forecast for 2025 predicts the Thai economy will grow by 2.4 percent, an increase from the previous estimate of 2.2 percent per year. This growth reflects an improvement in economic confidence across all sectors, bolstered by the government's economic measures, notably the "Half-Half Plus" and welfare limit increase programs.

Entrepreneurs have been cautioned against excessive price hikes. The Ministry of Finance is utilizing a data analytics system to monitor spending and detect any suspicious transaction patterns. Preventative measures have been implemented alongside food delivery platforms to prevent exploitation or fraud. Legal action will be pursued if any misconduct is identified.

The "Quick Big Win" economic policy is expected to enhance Thailand's GDP growth in the year's final quarter. The National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) has revised its 2025 GDP growth forecast to 2.4% per year. Major food delivery platforms' participation in the program is anticipated to significantly boost domestic consumption at year's end, delivering "short-term stimulus, long-term results, and widespread distribution," according to Mr. Siripong.
