Grandfather Muang Trang, a land tycoon, never stops working hard, carrying a basket to sell vegetables every day.

A 95-year-old great-grandfather of 6 generations, a strong-willed landowner in Trang, never stops working hard, living a simple life, carrying a basket to sell vegetables every day, 10 baht per bag, earning 300-400 baht per day. Great-grandfather said he doesn't want to stay idle. Every morning at the Khanom Jeen Krua Khun Pum shop on Wian Kapang Road, Tambon Thap Thiang, Amphoe Mueang Trang, we will meet Nang Anong Yin Sen (Kim Hung), 95 years old, a resident of Tambon Thap Thiang, a great-grandmother of 6 strong descendants, who will carry a basket to sell vegetables and fruits that her children and grandchildren have grown in the garden behind the house and brought them to sell. In the morning around 8:00 a.m., Great-Grandmother Kim Hung will walk around selling vegetables from different tables with a melodious, sweet voice to customers. This Khanom Jeen shop was owned by the owner and his great-grandfather who were friends since primary school. The owner allowed his great-grandfather to sell here sinc e 1979. Vegetables sold are rotated according to the season, such as morning glory, acacia shoots, tamarind shoots, sweet vegetables, lemongrass, acacia shoots, mamao shoots, and kaffir lime leaves. Each bag is 10 baht. Everything except limes and bananas are sold at market prices. In the morning, when the Khanom Jeen shop starts to close, Grandpa will change to sell at the public park, Sa Ka Phang Surin, Mueang Trang District, 400 meters away. His youngest son will drive a motorcycle to deliver the food. However, some days Grandpa will walk himself. He will sit and sell until the basket of vegetables is empty. At around 3 pm, he will go home with his son to pick him up. Each day, Grandpa earns no less than 300-400 baht. Most importantly, my great-grandfather had a strong body, excellent memory, clear hearing and speech, could ask and answer questions fluently, and could eat all his favorite foods, even though he had only one tooth left. Great-grandfather said that he was born during World War II. At that time, Japanese soldiers occupied the city. As for food, he liked all kinds of curry, whether it was spicy curry, clear soup, chicken curry, roast pork curry, and iced tea, which he drank every day. However, he was never sick or had to see a doctor. He was healthy and well-rounded. He could eat, sleep, and be in a good mood. He had 6 sons and daughters, all of whom were civil servants and had already retired. He did not want them to go out and sell vegetables because their children and grandchildren could take care of them. However, Great-grandfather did not want to stay home and do nothing. When he saw that there were many vegetables and fruits at home, he wanted to go out and sell them so that he could meet people and open his eyes. It was also considered exercise. Great-grandfather said that he would go out and sell vegetables every day until his body could not take it anymore. He was considered a strong great-grandfather. Inquiring about his great-grandfather's history revealed that he was a millionaire w ith at least three plots of land totaling almost 50 rai in Trang Municipality, worth hundreds of millions of baht. But he still lived a simple life, eating simply and living simply, to the point that he became a revered role model who had received many awards and was a role model for the younger generation. There was no secret to long life because he ate everything, but he wouldn't eat anything he didn't like. His favorites were curry, fish, and grilled pork. He ate one or two a day, not a lot; his children bought them for him. He drank iced tea every day. Source: Thai News Agency
