Governor of Expressway Authority of Thailand Takes Action to Improve Traffic Flow at Dao Khanong Checkpoint

Bangkok: The Governor of the Expressway Authority of Thailand inspected traffic conditions at the Dao Khanong checkpoint. The Governor of the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) visited the area to observe traffic conditions and opened a temporary diversion route to enter the Dao Khanong Tollway, as well as inspecting traffic conditions at the Suk Sawat Tollway and the Chalerm Mahanakhon Expressway.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Surachet Laopoolsuk, Governor of the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT), Ministry of Transport, together with Pol. Maj. Gen. Thawat Wongsanga, Deputy Commander of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, visited the area to observe traffic conditions and temporarily open a traffic diversion lane to allow people to travel to the Dao Khanong Expressway to help ease traffic flow into the city. Later, the Governor traveled to inspect the traffic volume at the Suk Sawat Toll Plaza, Chalerm Mahanakhon Expressway to observe the traffic conditions both inbound and outbound of the city and ordered traffic officers to work with the traffic police to facilitate the people to the fullest extent of their ability.

The progress of the work on removing the debris from the collapsed bridge construction incident in the area under construction of the Rama 3 - Dao Khanong - Outer Bangkok Ring Road project, western side, overall progress is more than 70%.

The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) will expedite the area recovery process to complete it as soon as possible in order to open the expressway section from Dao Khanong to Suk Sawat Toll Plaza on the inbound side of the city in full system and emphasize the importance of high standards and safety. The goal is to open the Chalerm Mahanakhon Expressway at the inbound Dao Khanong Toll Plaza within 7 days and has expedited the safety inspection of the bridge structure and strictly controlled the removal of the debris. The EXAT will expedite the repair of the Chalerm Mahanakhon Expressway on the outbound side heading to the Dao Khanong Interchange to allow the damaged section to be open for service within 30 days.
