Bangkok: The Government Housing Bank (GHB) has introduced a new financial product designed to attract savers, particularly those involved in its housing loan welfare project, members of related professional councils, government lottery ticket dealers, and certified recipients from the Student Loan Fund. The "GHB Welfare Savings" account offers an interest rate of up to 1.85% per annum for balances not exceeding 10 million baht.
According to Thai News Agency, the initiative allows customers to open an account with a minimum deposit of 500 baht at any GHB branch nationwide. This offer is available from now until December 30, 2025, or until the project's credit line is fully utilized. The account promises monthly interest payouts, and individual depositors will benefit from tax exemptions on their interest earnings.
