Germans Flock to Muay Thai Master Class Featuring Top Fighters

Munich: Germans have shown significant interest in the "Muay Thai Master Class 2025," an initiative held in Munich, Germany, featuring prominent Muay Thai fighters Saenchai P.K. Saenchai Muay Thai Gym, Yodsaenklai Fairtex, and Namsaknoi Yuttakarnkamthorn. The event, organized by the Subcommittee on Sports Industry Promotion under the Creative Culture Agency (THACCA) in collaboration with the Boxing Commission of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), attracted nearly 400 participants keen on learning from these respected fighters.

According to Thai News Agency, the event, which took place at MTV Munich from 1879 eV on August 23rd, was attended by several dignitaries including Mr. Jittipat Thongprasert, Ambassador to Berlin, and Ms. Prapenpim Prachanpajjanuk, Consul-General to Munich. The event also promoted travel to Thailand, offering advice on applying for a 90-day Non-Immigrant Visa (ED) and a 180-day Muaythai DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) for those interested in long-term Muay Thai training.

Mr. Jittipat Thongprasert expressed the event's success, noting the rising popularity of Muay Thai in Germany, which now boasts over 250 boxing camps. He emphasized Muay Thai as an important cultural and diplomatic tool for Thailand, capable of promoting the country's uniqueness to Western Europe. He thanked the National Soft Power Committee for their support and expressed readiness to enhance Thailand's global presence through such initiatives.

Mr. Chalitrat Chantrubeksa, Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee on Sports Industry Promotion, highlighted the event's role in spreading Thai culture and the potential for future business activities related to Muay Thai. He mentioned that this year's master class series has been hosted in 14 countries, with plans to introduce new formats and support business ventures such as selling Muay Thai equipment in the coming year.

The "Muay Thai Master Class 2025" represents a strategic effort by Thailand to leverage Muay Thai as a soft power asset, contributing to the creative economy and promoting Thai martial arts globally. Upcoming events are scheduled for France, Spain, Portugal, and Australia.
