‘Genius’ Brings Witnesses in ‘Tangmo Case’ to DSI, Ready to Release New Evidence

Bangkok: Achariya-Dr. Thawatchai, along with expert witnesses on boat driving and programmers, gave information on the 'Tangmo case' before simulating the incident of falling off the boat on January 16. They stated that they did not want the case to be reopened, but rather asked for new charges.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Atchariya Ruangrattanapong, President of the Crime Victim Assistance Association, along with Dr. Thawatchai Kanchanarin, a doctor specializing in accidents and wounds, as well as a boat driving expert and a programmer, a total of 4 people, met with investigators at the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to provide information about the death of actress "Tangmo" Pattaratida Patcharawirapong.

Mr. Atchariya revealed that today will be the day to provide information to open the case with the DSI, as evidence that leads to the belief that Tangmo was not on the boat and did not fall from the stern. He questioned why the evidence of 3 strands of hair found on the boat was not considered in the case, even though the issue of hair had previously turned the case of Nong Chompoo around. He pointed out that the senior police officer who ordered the Nong Chompoo case was the same person who ordered the Tangmo case.

The important development is that on January 16, there will be a simulation of the boat falling. The DSI will send a team to observe and discussions will be held about this matter. Mr. Atchariya plans to present a clip showing that at around 10:30 p.m., "San Wisapat" was not sitting at the back of the boat as claimed but was sitting in the middle row. He aims to prove the facts of the falling from the boat, questioning whether it was hit by the boat's propeller or not. This is not a new case, but a new charge against the people on the boat, and there may be more prosecutions. Mr. Atchariya expressed concern for his safety, stating it is a gamble with life because he does not know when he will be assassinated. He declared this would be the last case he handles to help crime victims. He aims to expose flaws in Thailand's justice system and hopes the DSI will make this case clear until the mastermind is punished. He is preparing to sue high-ranking police officers, including the former national police chief and others involved in the Tangmo case.

Dr. Thawatchai, an expert on accidents and wounds, revealed that he brought new information, especially about wounds, to the DSI, confirming that the large wound on the thigh was not caused by a boat propeller 99.99%. This must be proven by testing pork with a boat propeller. He declined to reveal what caused the wound on Tangmo's thigh but confirmed it was not due to a boat propeller and likely a sharp object.

Dr. Thawatchai also noted that in the past, the media had never seen a single photo of Tangmo after 8:30 p.m. onwards, especially a photo taken at Rama VIII Bridge, which was a photoshopped photo. He urged the people on the boat to release a photo to confirm that Tangmo was really on the boat after 9 p.m. onwards.

For the next step, it remains to be seen what the DSI will do after receiving the information. Pol. Lt. Col. Nattapol Disayatham, an expert in consumer and environmental protection cases and the head of the fact-finding team, mentioned earlier that they must review the information received, including the results of the simulation of the events on January 16. Whether the case can be reopened depends on the facts and how it falls under the legal framework.
