General Prawit Wongsuwan Leads Palang Pracharath Party in Kathin Ceremony to Preserve Buddhism


Bangkok: “Big Pom,” or General Prawit Wongsuwan, leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, led a united Kathin ceremony in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province to preserve Buddhism and promote Thai traditions. The ceremony took place at Wat Koh Kaew and Wat Pho Phueak, two sites regularly visited by General Prawit for such events.



According to Thai News Agency, the total donations for this year’s ceremony amounted to 2,100,000 baht, which will be used to support the restoration of religious sites and the development of communities as spiritual centers. General Prawit took the opportunity to offer a Kathin robe in dedication to His Majesty King Taksin the Great and in memory of his late mother, Saisanee Wongsuwan.



During the ceremony, General Prawit engaged warmly with the attendees, expressing his concerns over the flooding in the area. He voiced confidence that the government is committed to supporting the affected people and has effective water management measures in place to mitigate the impact of the floods. He also expressed gratitude to all agencies for their cooperation in addressing the situation.
