Free Shuttle Buses Provided for Royal Bathing Ceremony in Honor of Queen Mother

Bangkok: People gradually boarded the shuttle bus to pay their respects to the royal corpse. People are gradually boarding the BMTA shuttle buses, prepared to facilitate travel to the Royal Bathing Ceremony. Metropolitan Police recommend a route from Sanam Luang to the Grand Palace.

According to Thai News Agency, reporters noted the atmosphere this morning as people arrived to pour water over the royal urn in front of the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, at the Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion in the Grand Palace.

Mr. Phisit Santhisiri, Assistant Director of Area 1, stated that the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) has provided 10 free shuttle buses to the public, stationed to pick up people in the Phaya Thai Island area and Victory Monument. The buses are scheduled to depart every 20 minutes from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., or until the area is completely cleared. This service is to facilitate public travel to the royal bathing ceremony for Her Majesty the Queen Mother in front of her portrait on October 26, 2025, at the Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion in the Grand Palace.

The Metropolitan Police Bureau has announced a recommended route for the public to bathe the royal corpse before the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, at the Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion, Grand Palace, on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Travelers are advised to reach Sanam Luang, disembark at the entrance to the tunnel in front of the Royal Plaza, before entering inside at the Sala Sahathai Samakhom, Grand Palace.
