Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Social Development and Human Security, revealed that since the night of the fire incident in the Trok Pho community in Yaowarat, Samphanthawong District, he has assigned Mr. Anukul Peedkaew, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, to quickly visit the evacuation center and has ordered the Ministry's unit, the Center for Accelerated Public Welfare Management (CWPM), to send officers to set up a registration point and help victims at the Joint Operation Center for Disaster Relief and Donation at Wat Samphanthawong (Wat Ko), in collaboration with various agencies, including the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (Saphanthawong District Office and the 13 Maitriwanich Public Health Service Center, Department of Health), the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Ministry of Interior, the Department of Employment, Ministry of Labor, police officers, and the Por Tek Tung Foundation, to urgently alleviate the suffering of victims. The Minister of Social Development and Human Security said that the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security has assigned each department to consider assistance according to the target groups that the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security oversees, such as welfare funds, assistance from various funds, assistance for the poor and the homeless, assistance for the elderly in difficult circumstances, assistance and rehabilitation for the disabled, child protection funds, and assistance for children in poor families. Each department will then consider assistance according to its mission. For the victims who registered with the Samphanthawong District Office, a total of 365 people, 182 were Thais and 183 were foreigners. It was found that the victims who were in the target group of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security registered from July 6-8, 2024 (6:00 p.m.), totaling 73 people, namely: 1) Department of Social Development and Welfare, 42 people; 2) Department of Elderly Affairs, 22 people; 3) Department of Empowerment and Development of the Quality of Life of Persons with Disabilities, 1 person; 4) Department of Children and Youth Affairs, 6 people; 5) Department of Women's Affairs and Family Institution, 2 people. Mr. Varawut said that for helping children and youth, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security initially reported that the first family has one junior high school student from the NFE. Assistance: 1. Child Protection Fund 6,000 baht, consisting of childcare compensation, consumer goods, and educational expenses. The second family has four primary and secondary school students. Assistance: 1. Child support for poor families 3,000 baht. 2. Child Protection Fund 22,000 baht, consisting of educational expenses, childcare expenses, and consumer goods. The National Housing Authority has now prepared housing for those affected. It is a vacant room in a rental building in 6 projects: 1) Baan Phra Ram 4 Plus 2) Thung Song Hong 3) Thung Song Hong Phase 3 and 4) Or Ngoen Phase 2 and 5) Phon Phra Ruang Prasit Phase 1 Part 1 and 6) Phon Phra Ruang Prasit Phase 1 Part 2 with an average price of 300-3,300 baht/month.
