Former Actor Petch Denies Ties to “Tid Yaem” Online Gambling Case

Bangkok: Police questioned former leading actor Petch, who continues to deny any involvement with the "Tid Yaem" online gambling case. However, authorities remain skeptical of his claims and are urgently examining his phone records to verify his statements. Meanwhile, 'Mr. Mahesak,' a key suspect, is believed to have fled the country.

According to Thai News Agency, progress is being made in the investigation of corruption and embezzlement involving Wat Rai Khing's funds. The former Phra Thammachiranuwat, once the abbot of Wat Rai Khing and Region 14, is under arrest for allegedly misappropriating temple funds for online gambling. Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong Phiwpaen, Commander of the Technology Crime Suppression Division, led the interrogation of ex-Phra Ekaphon at the Bangkok Special Prison.

Pol. Col. Adhichat Amornpradit of the Technology Crime Suppression Division 3 stated that former Phra Ekapot maintains his innocence, denying any connection to the gambling site and any knowledge of the former abbot's gambling activities. Despite his assertions, the police remain unconvinced and intend to thoroughly investigate all aspects to uncover the truth.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong further disclosed that there is no direct money trail linking the former abbot to the gambling site. However, financial transactions have been traced from the former abbot to ex-Phra Ekapot. Authorities are meticulously examining the data on the suspect's mobile phone due to the substantial amount of information involved.

In the case of 'Aranyawan,' financial analysis revealed more funds were sent to the gambling site than were received. Additional electronic data is required to complete this aspect of the investigation comprehensively.

For 'Mr. Mahesak,' the main suspect, investigations suggest he has left the country, possibly relocating to a neighboring nation.
