Flood Crisis in Uttaradit: Tron Hospital Rushes to Evacuate Patients

According to Thai News Agency, officials and rescue units rushed to evacuate 28 patients from Tron Hospital in Uttaradit Province to safety as early as 3 a.m. before transferring them to a nearby hospital. Floodwaters from the floodwaters in Thong Saen Khan District caused the hospital to rise rapidly, reaching over a meter in some areas. As of this morning, floodwaters remain inundated throughout the area surrounding Tron Hospital. Officials are also scrambled to move equipment and medical supplies, and have been advising patients to use hospitals in nearby districts until the situation improves. A field hospital is being prepared at the Tron District Office to accommodate emergency patients.

Tropical Storm Bualoi has caused flooding in Nam Pat, Thong Saen Khan, and Tha Pla districts, and has spread to Tron district and residents living along the river at the end of the Sirikit Dam. Meanwhile, at Ban Huai Maeng, Village No. 3, Nam Krai Subdistrict, Nam Pat District, which has been affected by water overflowing from the Khlong Tron Reservoir for two days, the water level has receded. Water levels in higher areas are returning to normal, with only flooding in low-lying areas remaining. However, four people have been reported missing and unreachable, and one person has died in Tha Pla district due to swept away by the current.
