Father Visits Son in Custody After Fatal Car Crash Involving Rider

Bangkok: A father brought relatives to visit his half-Indian son, who is currently in custody after crashing his car into a rider, resulting in the rider's death on Sukhumvit Road yesterday. The father requested that the media respect their privacy and not interfere with the family during this difficult time.

According to Thai News Agency, the father, along with seven other relatives, arrived at Lumpini Police Station this morning to see Mr. Seri, the 30-year-old suspect involved in the fatal incident near the entrance to Sukhumvit Soi 10. The family declined to provide any interviews or comments to the media. Mr. Seri's father made a heartfelt plea to the media, asking them not to intrude upon their family's affairs, before the group retreated to an interrogation room to avoid further attention.

Police officers on duty in front of the detention room reported that Mr. Seri was behaving like any other detainee, engaging in normal activities such as sitting, walking, and napping. He did not make any special requests and communicated normally during interactions with the officers. This morning, his relatives brought him drinking water and Indian tea, which he consumed without issue. Police are preparing to transfer Mr. Seri to the Bangkok South Criminal Court for further detention proceedings.
