EOD Team Investigates and Neutralizes Cambodian BM-21 Rockets in Ubon Ratchathani

Ubon ratchathani: An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was dispatched to the Nam Yuen District in Ubon Ratchathani Province to address concerns over suspected Cambodian BM-21 rocket craters. The team successfully located three craters, two of which were neutralized, while the final site is pending military confirmation.

According to Thai News Agency, villagers had reported witnessing a BM-21 rocket fired by Cambodia during recent border clashes, which failed to detonate upon impact. This prompted the EOD team to investigate three specific locations. The first site was a cassava field along the Nam Yuen-Nam Khun Road, where the team found a BM-21 rocket head. The area was cordoned off, and the road was temporarily closed for about 20 minutes to facilitate the safe destruction of the rocket head.

The EOD team then proceeded to Ban Phon in the Dom Pradit Subdistrict to inspect another suspicious crater. Here, a BM-21 rocket head was discovered near a villager's residence. The homeowner, who intended to plant a banana tree at the site, alerted officials upon finding the crater. Officials promptly arrived to recover and neutralize the threat.

The third location remains under surveillance, as officials await confirmation from local military personnel before proceeding with disposal. Residents in border areas have been advised to report any suspicious findings to local authorities or police to ensure prompt action by relevant officials.
