Kantharalak: EOD officers have successfully disarmed a bomb at a convenience store and gas station in Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, amid heightened tensions at the Thailand-Cambodia border. Rescue workers have removed the bodies of five individuals from the affected area.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred in the midst of an ongoing clash between Thailand and Cambodia near the Khao Phra Wihan border area. During the conflict, approximately three Cambodian bullets landed on Thai territory, affecting the Border Patrol Police Camp 224. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or deaths from the gunfire.
EOD officers, tasked with disarming bombs since the morning, were forced to temporarily evacuate the scene after Cambodian bullets were fired in close proximity. The officers returned later to continue their bomb disarmament operations once it was safe to do so.
Simultaneously, rescue workers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation arrived to collect the bodies of the deceased from inside the convenience store. Five fatalities were confirmed, including one convenience store employee. Authorities are conducting further examinations to ascertain more details about the remaining victims.
