The incident occurred at 5 a.m. today, causing water to overflow into the area quickly and spread over a wide area, affecting approximately 120 households. Im portantly, there are still approximately 100 rai of rice fields that have not yet been harvested, even though there have been warnings and some have already been harvested. Mr. Wira Buachan, Sukhothai Provincial Agriculture Officer, who traveled to the area, said that he came to send encouragement to the affected farmers. Therefore, he ordered the Sukhothai District Agriculture Officer to urgently survey the damage in order to compensate and help the affected farmers according to government regulations. However, Ms. Pansiri Kulnatsiri, MP for Sukhothai District 1, revealed while visiting the area that she had mobilized all forces to help the villagers and diverted water along the Yom River in Sukhothai Province by diverting water from both the left and right banks of the Yom River at the Ban Hat Saphan Chan water gate in Sawankhalok District to the Yom-Nan projec t and the old Yom River to reduce the impact of the Yom River. The water level in the Yom River from last night until this morning has not passed the critical point in all areas because there is a large amount of water to the north from Phrae Province, causing Sukhothai Province to be affected as a result, amidst the strong preventive efforts of many relevant officials, especially the inner economic zone of Sukhothai Municipality, which must monitor the situation in the Yom River 24 hours a day. The latest water level of the Yom River at point Y4 in front of the Sukhothai Provincial Governor's Residence is as high as 7.63 meters, almost reaching the critical point at 8.10 meters. The volume of water flowing through is 469.60 cubic meters/second, brimming with the banks along Mueang Sukhothai District. As for the water level measurement point in Si Samrong District, it has reached the critical point at water level measurement station Y 33 and will continue to flow into Mueang District.
