Pattaya: A heavily intoxicated woman driving a sedan lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn and sustain significant damage. The incident occurred in the early hours near the Laem Bali Hai Interchange in Pattaya, Nongprue Subdistrict, leaving the driver with minor injuries but sparking concern over her decision to drive under the influence. According to Thai News Agency, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center in Pattaya received a report of the accident at 01:16 a.m. Upon arrival, rescue volunteers found the blue sedan overturned in the middle of the road. The driver, identified as Ms. Phanthip, 29, was found to be heavily intoxicated and had suffered minor abrasions. Despite her condition, she admitted to consuming alcohol but claimed she did not know how the accident occurred, expressing surprise as she usually manages to drive home regardless of her alcohol consumption. Mr. Noppakun Songcharoen, a Pattaya City Special Affairs Officer, recounted that officers had earlier observed the w oman in a state of heavy intoxication and had offered assistance due to concerns for her safety. She initially claimed she would take a bus home. However, soon after, the report of the sedan overturning came in, revealing that she had opted to drive herself. Ms. Phanthip was subsequently taken into custody to assess her blood alcohol level as authorities prepare to proceed with legal actions against her.
