Department of Rights Protection Expedites Compensation for Nong Bua Lamphu Shooting Victims.

Nong Bua Lamphu: The Department of Rights Protection is swiftly moving to provide compensation to the families of three individuals who were tragically killed in a shooting incident in Nong Bua Lamphu Province. Each family is set to receive 200,000 baht, as determined by the Nong Bua Lamphu Provincial Subcommittee. According to Thai News Agency, the unfortunate event involved a suspect who used an unidentified handgun to fatally shoot three local residents before fleeing on a motorcycle. The suspect has since been apprehended. Ms. Amon Siangyai, Director-General of the Department of Rights and Liberties Protection, expressed her condolences for the incident, describing it as shocking and horrifying. She emphasized the department's commitment to providing prompt assistance and compensation to the victims' families. The department has coordinated with the Nong Bua Lamphu Provincial Justice Office, under the leadership of Mr. Tasanai Susanon, Acting Provincial Justice, to facilitate this process in accordance w ith the relevant compensation act. The compensation package for each victim's family includes 100,000 baht for death compensation, 20,000 baht for funeral expenses, 40,000 baht for loss of support, and an additional 40,000 baht for other damages. However, the final decision on the assistance will be made by the Sub-Committee for Nong Bua Lamphu Province, chaired by the provincial governor. Ms. Siangyai reiterated the department's readiness to support victims of crime throughout Thailand, stating that their efforts aim to ensure justice and fairness while reducing inequality in society.
