Constitutional Court Launches ‘Court Meets Media’ Project to Enhance Understanding

Bangkok: Nakarin Mektrairat, President of the Constitutional Court, has inaugurated the 'Court Meets the Media' project with the aim of fostering a mutual understanding between the court and media. He emphasized the importance of communication grounded in law and ethics.

According to Thai News Agency, the project, inaugurated for the year 2025, saw participation from judges, office executives, media representatives, and educational institutions. This initiative seeks to improve the knowledge and understanding of the Constitutional Court's roles, duties, and powers, as well as to disseminate information about its significant operations.

Mr. Nakarin expressed gratitude towards the media and speakers who attended the event. He acknowledged the continued evolution of the Constitutional Court meets the media initiative, stressing the need for the court to communicate effectively while respecting legal and ethical boundaries. He noted that while the court must sometimes speak less, it remains crucial to ensure mutual respect and understanding with the media. The project intends to create a balance where both parties can communicate within appropriate frameworks.

He further highlighted the hope that this initiative would enable the media to better understand the court's work, while also providing the court with an opportunity for transformation. The goal is to ensure that the Constitutional Court operates within the law and constitution, and that the media comprehends its role, facilitating constructive dialogue.

The event also featured a seminar titled 'Creating a System of Checks and Balances and the Role of the Constitutional Court in the Future,' where academics and media experts shared their insights.
