Comptroller General’s Department Allocates Additional 100 Million Baht for Disaster Relief

Bangkok: The Comptroller General's Department has announced an increase in the reserve fund by 100 million baht, directing the funds to the governors of three provinces on the Thai-Cambodian border. These funds are intended to address the escalating situation caused by Tropical Storm Wipha.

According to Thai News Agency, Mrs. Patricia Mongkolvanich, the Director-General of the Comptroller General's Department, disclosed that the additional funds have been sanctioned for the provinces of Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat. Each province will receive an additional 100 million baht to manage the worsening conditions resulting from incidents along the border, which are expected to intensify and spread further. Furthermore, there has been an increment in the reserve under the authority of the Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, reaching 100 million baht, to ensure swift and comprehensive assistance to those affected.

Moreover, this increase complements the existing budget allocated for disaster response, including the 50 million baht set aside for the governors of Nan, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Lampang, Chiang Mai, and Phrae. The funds are aimed at facilitating emergency assistance operations in the wake of Typhoon Wipha-induced flooding, enhancing the capability to provide timely aid to disaster victims.
