Chusak Awaits Court Ruling, Believes Paethongtarn’s Case Will Be a Positive One

Bangkok: Chusak believes the outcome of the Paethongtarn case will be positive, reiterating the Prime Minister's intentions to solve the country's problems. He views the image of Uncle Pom and Anutin having dinner together as having no political significance. Chusak Sirinil, Minister to the Prime Minister's Office and a Pheu Thai Party leader, addressed the preparations for the Constitutional Court's ruling on the audio recordings of conversations between Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra and Samdech Hun Sen. He confirmed that no preparations have been made and that he awaits the court's decision.

According to Thai News Agency, as for whether any signals have been sent, given the postponement of the appointments of the provincial governor and high-ranking police officers, Mr. Chusak stated that all parties have said that if the intentions are primarily for the good of the country, then he thinks it should be a good thing. However, if asked now, ultimately it's just speculation, as we don't yet know what the court's decision will be. However, based on the criticism, he believes it should be a good thing.

When asked whether any previous rulings have focused on intention and legal issues, Mr. Chusak confirmed that intention is always the primary consideration, whether in civil or criminal cases. It depends on what the individual's intentions are, and there is no malicious intent towards the country, as is the case at all.

Regarding the ethical issues that have been brought before the court, Mr. Chusak requested that the court decide on the matter. He stated in numerous interviews that there were six serious ethical issues, and requested that the court review and review which ones were included.

When asked if, as a law professor, he considers intent in every case, including political cases, Mr. Chusak admitted, "Yes, we do. We have good intentions for the country. There are two kinds of intentions: good and bad. Legally, we call it intentions, which are intended to produce results." Judging from his interview, it's clear that he's trying to solve the country's problems.

Regarding the claim that the audio clip is considered normal during negotiations, can it be used as a reason? Mr. Chusak said that it must be considered as a whole, but if we wait to hear from the court this afternoon, we will know what is what.

As for whether intention should be the standard for determining guilt, Mr. Chusak said, "Don't say whether it's wrong or not. What you say is an analysis of whether what you say was with malicious intent towards the country."

After the court's decision, what will happen to the Thai political situation? Currently, there are many criticisms. Mr. Chusak emphasized that we must wait and see what the verdict will be.

As for whether measures are being prepared to deal with the negative outcome, Mr. Chusak said that it depends on the situation at hand. He added that there is a solution.

When asked repeatedly whether there would be no dead end, Mr. Chusak repeatedly emphasized that there would not be.

Regarding the photo of Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, having lunch with General Prawit Wongsuwan, leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, at the Border Forest Foundation of 5 Provinces yesterday, whether it had a political implication, Mr. Chusak said, "No, don't think too much about it." He then laughed and walked off to join the meeting.
