Chinese National Arrested in Bangkok for Alleged Sexual Assault.

Bangkok: Metropolitan Police detectives have successfully apprehended a 33-year-old Chinese national, Mr. Su Xing Rui, following allegations of sexual assault against a young woman. The arrest was carried out under the authority of an arrest warrant issued by the Criminal Court, as officers executed a meticulously planned operation at a well-known hotel on Phetchaburi Road, Ratchathewi District. During the raid, police seized an iPhone containing incriminating video evidence, including footage of the assault, sadistic acts, and surreptitiously recorded clips from beneath women’s skirts.

According to Thai News Agency, the arrest followed a complaint filed by the victim, a first-year student at a prominent university. She reported being raped on the evening of November 19th by a man she met at a shopping mall, who had posed as a tourist. He lured her to the hotel under false pretenses before committing the assault and recording the incident. Subsequently, the perpetrator attempted to coerce her into further en
counters through threatening messages, prompting the victim to involve her family and authorities.

The police faced challenges in tracking down the suspect due to his evasive behavior. An elaborate plan, described as “luring the tiger out of the cave,” involved using a decoy to entice the suspect into a trap. The suspect requested an unusual setup involving another man in a fantasy costume, leading to Deputy Chief of Investigation Division 1, Pol. Lt. Phonlawat Nakthomya, going undercover in disguise to facilitate the operation.

The decisive moment came when the suspect arrived at the hotel room where police were lying in wait. Upon confirming his identity, officers, who had concealed themselves in strategic locations, swiftly moved to arrest him. Despite the suspect’s attempts to deny involvement, claiming he had been drugged and was merely visiting, the evidence on his phone contradicted his statements.

The investigation revealed extensive evidence of criminal activity, including numerous videos of sexua
l encounters with other women and voyeuristic footage taken in public. Authorities are now broadening their inquiry to uncover potential additional offenses linked to the suspect, who lacks a permanent residence in Thailand and exhibits a pattern of predatory behavior.
