CCTV Captures Two Suspects in Motorcycle Bombing

Pattani: CCTV cameras captured images of two suspects believed to be the perpetrators of the motorcycle bombing in Pattani, injuring 10 people, including volunteer defense officers, police officers, and Malaysians. This morning (January 13), an improvised explosive device was hidden on a motorcycle before it exploded, injuring 10 people in Soi TK Park, Pattani Phirom Road, Anarue Subdistrict, near Pattani City Police Station. Many cars and shophouses were damaged.

According to Thai News Agency, CCTV footage near the scene and the surrounding area of the city showed two suspects riding a motorcycle. Both suspects were dressed in the style of Muslim women, wearing hijabs and white clothes and pants, resembling student uniforms. They also wore face masks to cover their faces. They attempted to avoid police officers who might be present to protect the public. The investigation team is urgently reviewing CCTV footage from shops along the road that the perpetrators are believed to have used to escape, as well as footage from Highways 43 and 42. Authorities believe they will be able to track down and arrest the suspects for questioning and legal action.

For those injured in the incident, the latest confirmation reports 10 people, including 6 volunteer defense corps officers, 3 police officers, and Mr. Irfan, a 21-year-old Malaysian national. At the time of the incident, Mr. Irfan was in his car, en route to file a report at the police station with his wife and family. Fortunately, the explosion did not cause serious injuries, but the car was damaged.
