Bus Destroyed by Fire While Driver Uses Restroom in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya

Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya: A bus driver experienced a shocking incident when he returned from a brief restroom visit to find the employee shuttle bus he was operating engulfed in flames. The event took place at 5:00 AM on April 21, on the outbound Rojana Road, near the arch gate of Wat Khanham in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.

According to Thai News Agency, the driver had started the engine and left the bus to use the restroom for less than 5 minutes. Upon his return, the front of the bus was already ablaze. Fortunately, no passengers were on board at the time of the incident. The driver was preparing to pick up employees and transport them to a factory in Wang Noi District.

Uthai Police Station quickly responded to the incident, coordinating with the Khanham Subdistrict Administrative Organization fire truck and volunteers from the Phutthaisawan Foundation to manage the fire. Two fire engines were deployed to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby shops. It took over 30 minutes to fully control the fire, but the bus was completely destroyed. Additional damage was reported to a nearby motorcycle and a shop sign.

This incident highlights the quick response by emergency services and the fortunate absence of passengers during the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
