Bomb Explosion in Pattani City Center; No Injuries Reported

Pattani: An explosion occurred in the city center of Pattani, Thailand, after a bomb detonated at a busy intersection, though no injuries were reported in the incident. Authorities discovered two additional explosive devices nearby, which were safely neutralized by a bomb disposal unit. According to Thai News Agency, Pattani City Police were alerted to an explosion at the intersection of Klapor Road, near the weekend market in Tambon Chabang Tikor, Amphoe Mueang, Pattani Province. Following the explosion, law enforcement promptly secured the area and coordinated with an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team to examine the site. During their investigation, officers identified two more improvised explosive devices (IEDs) equipped with remote control detonation capabilities and gasoline bottles. Authorities suspect that the individuals responsible initially intended to target a convenience store but were deterred by a security checkpoint. In response, the perpetrators abandoned the devices on the roadside, re sulting in one of the bombs exploding. The EOD team successfully used water guns to destroy and deactivate the remaining two IEDs before they could cause harm.
